Athens Markets Walking Tour

“The hectic, colorful Athens agora (market; also referred to as the Varvakios Agora) is the highlight of the vibrant Athinas market district. It’s a sensory and gastronomic delight, with an amazing range of olives, spices, cheeses and deli treats. The historic meat market, with hanging carcasses illuminated by swinging light bulbs, is a surreal highlight. The tavernas in and around the market are worth seeking out.”

Along the way we’ll get a chance to explore the flea-markets and to interact with the locals. Why not try some traditional Greek mezedes, or tapas, coupled with Greece’s national drink, Ouzo…don’t worry this one’s on us! But don’t eat too much as we have a(n) optional meal planned for you at the end of the tour at one of Athens’ famous Greek Tavernas. Really Interesting!

This was a very cheap tour and one of the best walking tours we\'ve been on. Walter was an excellent guide (thanks again). The ouzee and little plates of food at the end was a very nice touch.
